Tanzania Christian Services

AOCSS dorm construction700

Foundation being poured for Tanzania Christian academy student housing

“Seeing is believing” is a phrase we all have heard for years. Yet, that is how we feel as we observe the now finished headmaster’s house, watch the construction of a dormitory capable of housing 80 students, and observe a duplex beginning that can house two teachers’ families at the future Alpha Omega Christian Secondary School.

Our heartfelt thanks go to each of you who have prayed and given so liberally to see this dream realized. While we were in the US for the past several months we contacted many of you through letters, brochures, meetings, and speaking engagements to let you know of an additional work in Tanzania that we believe God wants established—a Christian secondary school.

Besides the building of the academy, we have been constantly occupied this past week with clinic work, organizing items unloaded from our container, which arrived while we were in the US, and with trying to establish Bible studies with those who have shown interest in learning more about our wonderful Savior. Additional meetings with the government will take place in coming weeks so we can hopefully soon open the birthing center at Tanzania Christian Clinic.

As we resume Bible studies with Sailepo, one of our Maasai guards, and begin them with one of our clinic patients, Upendo, we ask your prayers. This verse leapt out recently as a great formula for winning others to Jesus, “We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us.” (I Thess. 2:8)

Speaking of those studies, we are lastly including a picture of Elijah (TCC’s wonderful lab technologist) and his baptism, as he gave his life to Jesus recently. His confession of Jesus was heartfelt and touching. He and his wife Maureen and baby Precious are a great addition to the kingdom and we thank God for them!

Short Family Joins TCC Team

We would like to welcome Tammy and Lewis Short along with their three daughters to Tanzania.  Tammy has a B.S. in nursing and Lewis has a M.Div.  Both will be volunteers at Tanzania Christian Clinic starting in February.  They have previous missions experience in China, South Africa, and Italy and are planning to live in Tanzania for several years. We give thanks for their help and encouragement.
